The murder won’t stop until we fight against it!
From the beginning of the revolution until today, women in north-eastern Syria have always been the main targets, fighting against the patriarchal and conservative elements in society with their resistance and striving for a free life. It is becoming clear that the commitment of women everywhere is a complete success. In the fight against terror, women have always played a significant role and still the fight continues as they want to end the mentality and consciousness of IS once and for all.
We are in a very sensitive phase and era. Arab women who want to distance and detach themselves from both the patriarchal consciousness and the IS ideology are being targeted as it is not desired that they become members of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), for example, as the basic concept of this party is to strive for a free society based on women’s liberation.
On 22 January, two female members of the PYD were attacked in Al-Shedad (Heseke): Saada Al-Hermas (co-chair of the City Council) and Hind Al-Khader (person in charge of the economic committee).
This attack was meant to weaken the security structures and to break the strength and will of the women who have courageously declared war on patriarchy, as friends like Hevrin, Arin and Zilan have done.
We, as the PYD Women’s Council, stand here today with respect and reverence for our murdered friends and firmly pledge that we will not rest until there is no more room for murder, violence and terrorism in our society. We promise that we will honour the memory of these two women and continue the path they started with their resistance and we will support all women’s struggles in this world and never allow the will for women’s freedom to be broken worldwide!

Von Anbeginn der Revolution bis heute wurden stets vor allem Frauen in Nord-Ost-Syrien als Zielscheibe gesetzt, die mit ihrem Widerstand gegen die patriarchalen und konservativen Elemente in der Gesellschaft gekämpft und ein freies Leben angestrebt haben. Es wird deutlich, dass das Engagement von Frauen überall ein voller Erfolg ist. Im Kampf gegen den Terror haben die Frauen stets eine bedeutende Rolle gespielt und noch immer geht der Kampf weiter, da sie die Mentalität und das Bewusstsein der IS ein für alle mal beenden will. Wir sind in einer sehr empfindlichen Phase und Epoche. Arabische Frauen, die sich sowohl vom patriarchalen Bewusstsein und der IS Ideologie distanzieren und lösen wollen, werden anvisiert, da es nicht erwünscht wird, dass sie zum Beispiel Mitglieder in der Partei der Demokratischen Union werden (PYD), da das Grundkonzept dieser Partei das Anstreben einer freien Gesellschaft auf der Grundlage der Befreiung der Frau vorsieht.
Am 22. Januar wurden zwei zwei weibliche Mitglieder der PYD in Al-Shedad (Heseke) zum Opfer eines Anschlages: Saada Al-Hermas (co-chair of the City Council) and Hind Al-Khader (person in charge of the economic committee).
Dieser Anschlag sollte dazu dienen, die Sicherheitsstrukturen zu schwächen und die Stärke und den Willen der Frauen zu brechen, die mutig dem Patriarchat den Kampf angesagt haben, wie auch schon Freundinnen wie Hevrin, Arin und Zilan das auch getan haben.
Wir als Frauenrat der PYD stehen hier heute mit Respekt und Ehrfurcht vor den ermordeten Freundinnen und versprechen fest entschlossen, dass wir nicht ruhen werden bis in unserer Gesellschaft kein Platz mehr für Morde, Gewalt und Terrorismus ist. Wir versprechen, dass wir die Erinnerung dieser zwei Frauen in Ehren halten werden und den Weg, den sie begonnen haben mit ihrem Widerstand, weiterführen werden und wir alle Kämpfe von Frauen auf dieser Welt unterstützen und niemals zulassen werden, dass der Wille nach Freiheit der Frauen weltweit gebrochen wird!

Desde el comienzo de la revolución hasta hoy, siempre han sido objeto de atención las mujeres del noreste de Siria en particular, que han luchado con su resistencia contra los elementos patriarcales y conservadores de la sociedad y se han esforzado por tener una vida libre. Cada vez está más claro que la participación de las mujeres en todas partes es un éxito total. En la lucha contra el terror, las mujeres siempre han desempeñado un papel importante y la lucha continúa, ya que quieren acabar con la mentalidad y la conciencia del EI de una vez por todas.
Estamos en una fase y una época muy delicada. Las mujeres árabes que quieren distanciarse y desprenderse tanto de la conciencia patriarcal como de la ideología del IS están en el punto de mira, ya que no se desea que se afilien al Partido de la Unión Democrática (PYD), por ejemplo, ya que el concepto básico de este partido es luchar por una sociedad libre basada en la liberación de las mujeres.
El 22 de enero, dos mujeres miembros del PYD fueron víctimas de un atentado en Al-Shedad (Heseke): Saada Al-Hermas (copresidenta del Consejo Municipal) y Hind Al-Khader (responsable del comité económico).
Este ataque pretendía debilitar las estructuras de seguridad y quebrar la fuerza y la voluntad de las mujeres que han declarado valientemente la guerra al patriarcado, como también lo han hecho amigas como Hevrin, Arin y Zilan.
Nosotras, como Consejo de Mujeres del PYD, estamos aquí hoy con respeto y reverencia por nuestros amigos asesinados y prometemos firmemente que no descansaremos hasta que no haya más espacio en nuestra sociedad para el asesinato, la violencia y el terrorismo. ¡Prometemos que honraremos la memoria de estas dos mujeres y continuaremos el camino que ellas iniciaron con su resistencia y apoyaremos todas las luchas de las mujeres en este mundo y nunca permitiremos que se rompa la voluntad de libertad de las mujeres en todo el mundo!
