On 22 January 2021, two women were targeted for murder by IS because they were women actively involved in local politics and campaigning for a democratic Syria. Sada al-Harmoush was co-chair of the Til Sheir Municipality Civil Council and Hind al-Khedr was her deputy – these femicides represent a new item on the long list of Erdoğan regime atrocities are two more reasons why we want the dictator
Erdogan to be brought to justice. This is what we as the Kurdish Women’s Movement are demanding with our signature campaign 100 Reasons!

Since the beginning of the revolution, the militias supported by the fascist Turkish state have been attacking Rojava at all levels. The AKP/MHP regime, which could not accept the women-led revolution in Rojava and considers this development as a threat to its own existence, invaded the region, massacred thousands of people and committed rapes and femicides. In Efrîn and Serêkaniyê, hundreds of women were murdered and hundreds more were abducted and raped.

With these murders, the Rojava revolution was targeted. Attempts are being made to destroy security and peace in Rojava.

We condemn the silence of the international public, international women’s and human rights organisations towards these crimes and call on these institutions and organisations to fulfil their responsibilities.

We offer our condolences to the families of those murdered. We pledge to extend the struggle against the murderous attacks of fascism on the will and freedom of women. We reaffirm our determination to defend women’s gains and rights. We will uproot this fascist regime and throw it on the rubbish heap of history.

We remember that women today are in control of their words, their decisions and their actions. Women today are stronger than ever. Our struggle will continue until we throw the occupiers out of Rojava and the dictator Erdoğan is brought to justice.
